Known as a hard-worker and fighter, this surprised no one who knew him.

Danny went to church as a small boy and later as he started his family. On February 9th, 1974, he was married to Bonnie Bolin. They had one daughter, Heather S. Ottinger and were both thrilled. Bonnie passed away on June 26. 2012. He stayed single for several years and then remarried to Susan Duncan on December 1st, 2015. She is left to cherish his memory along with his daughter Heather.

A dedicated family man, a few of Danny’s favorite things are a roller-coaster, the faster the better, roller skating, and asking as many questions as he can get away with.

He is survived by his wife, Susan Ottinger; daughter Heather Campbell (Jonathan); sisters Nancy D. Lowe of Concord, NC and Deborah Griffin of Lebanon, IN; brothers Richard E. Ottinger (Silvia), Paul Ottinger (Janet) of Marion, NC.; and several nephews and nieces.

Guestbook

  1. Susan, I am thinking of you. I hope you find peace and comfort in the outpouring of love and support from friends and family. Love, Bonnie

  2. I remember the day I read on Facebook that this nice lady who once taught Sunday School to my kids was getting married to a man named Danny Ottinger. I had never met him but was sure he was a relative because my Ottinger family is so big, and sure enough, he was a distant cousin. I had hoped to meet the man who Made Susan so happy but never got to. All my love and prayers to Susan and the rest of his family in their loss. We will meet one day in Heaven.

  3. Danny was such a special guy. I was always so moved by how motivated he was. I am so grateful that I was able to get to know him. I always looked forward to seeing him and Susan. Praying for the family.

  4. I grew up within walking distance of the Ottinger family. My deepest condolences to the family. R.I.P., Crystal Johnson

  5. I’m so sorry this is so late but I just came across this day. I’m sorry for your loss. Danny was a good kid as I knew him, Rick and Nancy. I attended Whitestown and Lebanon with them. I was so happy that he was shown liking roller skating. We had a roller rink in Whitestown where most of us went on Sunday nights. Please remember you’re all in my prayers. God bless you all ߙϰߘǰߘ¢.
