David Lee Lambert

David Lee Lambert, 74, longtime Mooresville resident, passed away May 11, 2023, following a cardiac event after surgery.  David was born February 8, 1949, in Indianapolis, to the late Elsie Mae (Totman) Lambert and John Russell Lambert, who survives.  He married Sandy Perry on August 3, 1974, and she also survives.

David graduated from Mooresville High School in 1967 and continued his education to become a radiological technologist.  He was the owner and operator of Lambert & Associates for more than 35 years.  David was a faithful member and served in various leadership roles at Grace Church for many years.  Most recently, he was a member of Mt. Gilead Church.  Simply put, David’s greatest hobby was people, and as his family put it, he was a “friend of strangers”.  He took great joy in helping people and easing the burdens of others.  His capable ability to fix just about anything came in handy on a regular basis.  Above all, David was a strong family man and a faithful Christian who will be fondly remembered by his loving family and many friends.

In addition to his mother, he was preceded in death by a brother, John Russell Lambert, II.

Survivors include his wife of 48 years, Sandy; his children, Ryan (Carrie) Lambert and Adria Lambert; one granddaughter, Maggie Lambert; siblings, Drucilla VanAvermaete, Robert (Marti) Lambert, Teresa (Michael) Bannon, and Michele (Rob) Stokes.

David’s Life Celebration® Visitation and Funeral Service will be held at Mt. Gilead Church, 6019 East State Road 144, Mooresville.  Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m., Tuesday, May 16, 2023, and the funeral service will begin at 10 a.m., Wednesday, May 17, 2023.  The burial will be in the Mooresville Cemetery.  Memorial contributions may be made to the
National Kidney Foundation or to Matanya's Hope.  Carlisle – Branson Funeral Service & Crematory, Mooresville, is serving the family.  Visit www.CarlisleBranson.com to share a favorite memory or to sign the online guest registry.

  2. I find myself so caught off guard. My friend. We just shared words on line. Your face, your voice, even your tears are so much a part of who I am – because you, dearest David Lambert, were one in a million. God created you with purpose and you lived for Him every day. Children in Kenya – especially Kelvin, will miss your words of wisdom and prayers on their behalf. Rest in peace dear one. One day we shall meet again. Until then, I will be taking to you much through our mutual and Devine connection.
Dearest Sandy and family – I just cannot imagine how you must feel. May your hearts be comforted by the presence of the Lord. He will not leave you. I pray for grace. I pray for you. God be with you all. Amen.

  3. My heart hurts so much for the loss of my dear friend David. Yet I celebrate that he’s free of all pain & suffering and is safe in the arms of Jesus. Even though it’s been over 50 years since I moved from Plainfield, I still have precious memories of wonderful times spent with the Lambert family at church, their house, our house and everywhere in between. May God hold you all close during this time and know you have my prayers & love always.

  4. My mentor and friend of most of my life. Thank you my friend for all you were to me, and thank you Jesus for the time we had. You gave direction and wisdom to a kid that had neither. I will try to live up to your example.

  5. Sandy, Ryan, Carrie and Adria, you have been in our thoughts and prayers. We pray you feel His supernatural peace in this difficult time.

Dave is an amazing man! What a blessing to have known him. In a brief time, we will be reunited, Praise God.

  7. So very sorry, Sandy and family, but also thankful to know that David is in heaven and now free of pain and suffering. What a blessing Dave was here on Earth. Prayers and hugs for the entire Lambert family. Lovingly, Debbie Golay Frew

  8. One of my favorite memories was a canoe trip that I went on with my Dad, Dave, and Adria. Adria and I were about 10 years old. Dave got such a kick out of the songs Adria and I made up on this trip…especially “dip it in the chocolate coating.” Any time I saw him, he mentioned that song and we would always laugh about it. Interestingly, he never called me by my real name; he preferred to call me Lester. 🙂 For some reason, that nickname made me feel special. Dave certainly knew how to make you feel special and loved…I think that was one of his many gifts. He was full of wisdom and knew how to gently share it with those who needed it. His life reflected the character of Jesus and I am honored to have known him.

  9. Our deepest condolences to the Lambert family. We remember Dave fondly and how he always had a cheerful good morning or a positive word for us during our time at Grace Church. You will all be in our prayers.

  10. I was in a small group with Dave and I can say he made me a better person just knowing him .Sorry to loose him but I know he is in a better place now.
    Rest in peace Dave .

  19. Dear sweet Sandy and family,

We just learned out about Dave. He was such a kind, caring, funny and Godly man. He will be greatly missed by all. My parents send their love and prayers to you all too.

  20. Dave was a good guy, and kind to everyone.
I locked my keys in the car years ago at church, and Dave got them out.
    Our condolences to Dave’s family.

  21. One of my favorite memories of Dave. I keep having memories pop up in my head of Dave greeting people at the old Grace Church sanctuary where I probably met him for the first time. He would call me “Bo or Bo Bo” from my high school days. I will always cherish these memories. Sandy, Ryan, Adria, thank you for sharing this amazing man. Praying for you guys. Love you.

  23. I will always remember David as a very Christ-like man. When David, Sandy, Robert, and Marti attended Grace Missionary Church (my childhood years), they were each godly and brought such a blessing to the church family, and such a heart for the youth.
