Deborah VanWyngarden-Mann

April 16, 1956 ~ August 16, 2011
On August 16, 2011, heaven rejoiced as they received a new angel, Deborah C. VanWyngarden-Mann. Debbie was born April 16, 1956, to the late Jack and Catherine Collins in Indianapolis. Debbie spent many years in the floral industry before becoming a barber in Indianapolis. She had most recently been a nursing student at J. Evertt Light.
Debbie’s memories are left to be cherished by her loving husband and best friend, Billy Mann. On July 17, 1985, she gave birth to her one and only “baby boy”, Jonathan VanWyngarden. Debbie’s love then increased with the birth of “Nana’s Sunshine”, Riley Faith and Aden Roger-Jackson. Included in her family is step-daughter, Billy “Lady Bug” and grandchild, Londen. Debbie is also survived by her twin brother, Gary Collins; brothers, Mark Collins, Jack Harrington, and John Collins; sisters, Judy VanMeter, Cathy Smith, and Dawn Banning; sister-in-law, Becky Collins; loving niece, Julie Kopetsky; special friends, Tami and Michael Hilbert. She was preceded in death by Jonathan’s father, Roger VanWyngarden, her parents, and her loving brother, Jack Collins.
Honoring Debbie’s wishes, there will be no service. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to her church, Tuxedo Park Baptist Church. Cremation will take place at the Morgan County Crematory, Mooresville. Arrangements are being handled by Carlisle – Branson Funeral Service & Crematory, Mooresville. I have good memories of Debby. I remember when she use to bring goodies to the class and initiated prayers before taking final exams. Her encouraging words were greatly appreciated during difficult times. Debby will surely be missed!
Debby’s smile lit up the room. Her joyful & passionate way of being was contagious. I am very honored to have known her and to have called her friend. She is a very memorable person who will be sorely missed.
Debby, you were one of the most positive people I know. What a wonderful example you have been to everyone who was bless to have spent even 10 minutes with you. A heart & soul so full of faith even strangers could feel it. I will miss arguing with you over who is paying for lunch at Taco Bell! But you have won in another area! You get to touch the face of Jesus first. I love ya much and will miss you more than you know!
Sore with the angels big sister. You will live in my heart always. I love you, Dawn
Debby- your words of encouragement helped me make it through most of first semester and helped me gain the confidence I needed to be able to continue in the JEL nursing program through 2nd semester and now 3rd. I am sad that you will not be there with us to walk across that stage, but you will be remembered on that day and forever thought of for your spirit. I know you will be there on that day watching over all of us with such pride. I will never forget how you just couldn’t stand still, you were always swaying or had a bounce in your step. Please watch over me and the rest of us, and put a good word in for me 🙂 You will be missed! I will always think of you when I go to steak and shake and Hardee’s our study places in first semester.
You will be missed. I will never forget the beautiful indy 500 bouquet you made for our cook out If anyone knows Billy or Johnathons number or able to have them contact me I would appreciate it. Sarah Trennepohl 317-506-3476
