  1. Laraine, Tobey and family- With my deepest sympathy in the loss of your mother. I will miss your mother greatly, especially our monthly dining out, our “girls” night out, long talks, laughter, tears and hugs! But most of all I will miss seeing if that living room curtain was open, knowing she was alright. I hope you find special comfort in knowing that your mother and all she meant to you will remain in your hearts forever!

  2. My condolences to the family. Until I was 4 or 5 years old, my family lived next door to Al and Effie. They treated me like a grandchild. If my mother didn’t know where I was, she could often find me next door with Effie feeding me ice cream. I even dressed up as Al for Halloween one year, cigar and all. I was able to visit Effie a few years ago so she could meet my first son. I am thankful to have had such a neighbor as a young child, and I hope my children are fortunate enough to have similar memories of people who through small things had a lasting impact on their lives. Effie was a blessing to me and my family.

  3. Her beautiful smile and kindness live forever in every person who had the privilege of knowing her.

  4. I enjoyed visting with Effie at Mill Run. She always had a plesant smile and was a joy to be around. I met her there when i was helping out my cousin and his wife (Glen and Mary Simpson). She will be sadly missed by all.

    Sincerly, Linda Bush

  5. I remember Aunt Effie giving me “coffee” when I stayed with her and Uncle Al at age 2 or 3. The coffee consisted of probably 2 teaspoons of coffee and a lot of sugar and milk. I loved it! She was so much fun to be around especially when we all got together for Christmas and Thanksgiving. Dad used to joke about how he was always older than Effie because she wouldn’t tell anyone her real age. I miss them and I hope she, Uncle Al, Dad ,Raymond, Lois and Uncle Hillis are having a wonderful time together! Love to all the family!

  6. Toby, sorry to read about Effie. She was a sweet lady. I enjoyed waiting on her and you at the bank. I will have you and family in my prayers.
