Ernest Junior Pugh, 67, Mooresville, died June 29, 2011, in his residence. Junior was born September 20, 1943, in Pennington Gap, Virginia, to the late Lloyd and Effie Rozell (Henry) Pugh.
Junior worked as a welder and mechanic at Fruehauf for many years and more recently at Dalton Trucking. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, and all out door activities. Junior attended Mooresville High School and served in the United States Army during the Korean War. He will be missed by his loving family and many friends.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by an infant son, James Pugh and a step-son, Jerry Hepworth.
Survivors include his wife, Becky (Hansel) Pugh, to whom he was united in marriage December 12, 1987; children, Ernest Junior Pugh, Jr. of Ohio, Jeff Hepworth of Indianapolis, Laura Zoringer of Avon, Jana Trent of Mooresville; brother, Otis Lloyd Pugh, Sr. of Mooresville; sister, Shirley Spinn of Texas; grandchildren, Lauren, Jonah, Noah, Elijah, Melinah, Holly, and Jerry.
The funeral service will begin at 10 a.m., Saturday, July 2, 2011, at Carlisle-Branson Funeral Service & Crematory, Mooresville, with calling there from 5 to 8 p.m., Friday, July 1, 2011. Burial will be in West Newton Cemetery. Pastors Ken Hayden and Mark Worley will officiate. Memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society.
