Shrake, 87, of Avon, passed away peacefully, surrounded by his family to his heavenly home May 14, 2009.He was born in Mooresville, Indiana, January 14, 1922, to the late Murrel O. and Mary Vannice (Poe) Shrake.One brother, Donald Shrake, preceded him in death.

Dear Evelyn, I have many fond memories of Gene from my days as a young boy at the old Grace Church around the corner from our house. I was sorry to read of his passing but one thing is for sure….He is in heaven now and probably having a discussion about
Evelyn, Nancy and I both grieve with you and want you to know that you are in our prayers. Gene’s face was one we looked for each Sunday at Kingsway and was always blessed by his warmth and smile. We were so glad to get to see both of you at Naomi’s 80
