Florence Bernhard, 76, Indianapolis, died March 17, 2012. She was born August 30, 1935, in Indianapolis, to the late James and Mary (Willoughby) Sparkmon.
Florence graduated from Decatur High School in 1953. She raised eight children and enjoyed working with her flowers, finishing puzzles, books, and frequently donated to local VFW.
Along with her parents, she was preceded in death by her beloved husband, George Bernhard; infant brother, Bobby; siblings, John, Jim, Kenny, and Josephine Clay.
Survivors include her children, Terry Capuano (Al) of Martinsville, Robert “Bob” Graham (Marilyn) of Indianapolis, David Graham (Pam) of Monrovia, Ralph Graham (Angela) of Centerton, Mary Starkey (James) of Plainfield, Danna Graham, Steven “Butch” Graham (Kim) of Mooresville, and Susan “Susie” Renner (Jeff) of Mooresville; brother, Earl “Leon” Sparkmon of Indianapolis; sister, Joyce Lorrance (Leeman) of Franklin; 19 grandchildren; 19 great grandchildren.
Family and friends may gather after 3 p.m., Friday, March 23, 2012, at David and Pam Graham's Residence, 265 Terrace Drive, Monrovia. Services are being held privately with the family. An inurnment will take place at the West Newton Cemetery. Cremation arrangements are being handled by the Morgan County Crematory. So sorry Terry and family for your loss. I remember when we were teens terry and your mom had a red car she called elizabeth, I thought the world of your mom she was so fun.
I miss you so much Moma you went so fast you left me with a bunch of brothers and sisters and a big big family you would be so proud of how we are helping each other to get through this sadness thank you for being my mom you was an amazing Mother thank you for my family RIP Love you Danna
mom i sure didnt think you would leave us like this, i wasnt ready to lose you . But then none of us kids were ready to lose r momma love you sooo much miss you sooo much i used to get agitaded at your calls when i was busy now i would give anything for a call from you, i will always cherish all the good memories and will love all my time with kids and grandkids even more now. life bit us hard this week, but i will try a little harder to slow down and smell the flowers in life, love and will miss u til we meet again your daughter Mary.
