Gary D. Davis

October 19, 1946 ~ May 14, 2023
Gary D. Davis, 76, Brownsburg, passed away peacefully at his home on May 14, 2023. Gary was born October 19, 1946, in Marietta, Ohio, to the late Kenneth Davis and Beulah (Watkins) Roe. He was also preceded in death by his first wife and mother of his sons, Linda Davis, in 2006.
Gary was a very hard worker who invested 42 years at General Motors, retiring in 2006. Ever strong in his faith, he was a longtime member of Good Shepherd Baptist Church. He was not ashamed to evangelize and help lead people to the Lord. Gary was an avid outdoorsman who enjoyed deer hunting and fishing just about anywhere but was especially partial to Cumberland River in Kentucky. He enjoyed crafts, painting, shooting, and spending as much time with his grandchildren as he possibly could. He was a wonderful role model and knew the importance of sharing his time with his family. His white beard and appropriate build made for a perfect Santa Claus – a role that he played for many years. Gary’s memory will be forever cherished by a loving family and many friends.
In addition to his parents and Linda, he was preceded in death by a sister, DeeDee Kelly.
Survivors include his wife of 16 years, Susan (Harris) Davis; children, Brian (Sarah) Davis, Nathan (Kristin) Davis, Amy Williamson, Ashley (Jeremy) Page, Alea (Todd) Beck; siblings, Bob (Dana) Davis, Barbara Davis, Kathy (Gary) Davis, Sandy (John) Boller, Tim (Linda) Davis, and Mike (Stacey) Davis; 15 grandchildren and 5 great grandchildren.
Gary’s Life Celebration® Visitation and Funeral Service will be held at Good Shepherd Baptist Church, 1150 E. State Road 144, Mooresville. Visitation will be Friday, May 19, 2023, 5 to 8 p.m. The funeral service will begin at 10 a.m., Saturday, May 20, 2023. Burial will be in Walnut Chapel Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be directed to the ALS Foundation or to the Kidney Foundation. Carlisle – Branson Funeral Service & Crematory is serving the family. I did not know him personally, but I know his son Nate. To raise Nate to be such a good guy, he must of been one awesome person.
