  1. Please accept my sympathy for the passing of Dr. Simpson. He has been a long time friend of the family and also said Hi if I happened to see him while working at the dental school. Patsy Dunn-Jena

  2. Soosie and family, I was a patient of your Dad’s starting in 1952 for at least 40 plus years! He made my smile beautiful again after falling face first into a little country creek and breaking my front tooth. What a gem of a man and dentist. I still have 2 gold molar crowns that he made in his office, as recent as the late nineties! My current dentist says that this is some of the best crown work he has ever seen! I also have your Mom and Dad’s tomatillo (handwritten) salsa recipe! You have my deepest sympathy for your loss. Sincere warm regards, Carolyn Brown Roebuck, formerly of Franklin

  3. Soosie, Bernie and family, I worked for Dr. Simpson from 1998 until his retirement. He was a wonderful man, a wonderful boss and was loved by his many patients. His dental work was true artistry. Please accept my sympathy for your loss. Linda Cripe

  4. Soosie and Family, I and my family and extended family were all patients of Dr. Simpson. My first visit was probably about 1962. And then in 1975 I became his dental assistant. Dr. Simpson trained me and taught me so much. I worked for him for six years and left to start a family. He was our dentist right up until he retired. After that, we would see each other every now and then in the grocery store and always had a good visit. He was a good man and we send our sympathy to you and your family. He will be missed. Julie and Rene Olibo

  5. Soosie, Your dad was my dentist when I was just a little girl back in the 60’s and continued to be until his retirement. I didn’t learn until later in life how much your father was so highly respected and admired through the dental community. He was one of the sweetest, kindest and most gentle men that I had ever met. I missed him when he retired but enjoyed running into him at the grocery store from time to time. Please accept my sympathies for you and your family, and know that your dad touched a lot of lives in a positive way. He was one special man that will be missed. Janet Walters Gorrell

  6. So sorry to hear of your dad’s passing…he was my family dentist since I have had teeth! And such a wonderful sweet caring one too. He always asked about my mother who was ill for some time before she passed (Pam and Jim Young were my folks). What a great person and fine dentist he was…my sympathies to you and yours…he will be very much missed.. Sara Young Novello

  7. Soosie, My grandmother was one of George’s first patients and our entire family went to him for decades for wonderful care. After graduating college he gave me the inspiration to go to dental school and in 1983 I got my DDS degree from IU. He was well respected at the school and was one of the best crown and bridge instructors there. My father and I took a week of his fishing time at the lodge where he fly fished and it was a wonderful experience. I am deeply saddend by his passing and will do my best to carry on his legacy of integrity, compassion and caring for my patients. Dr. Matthew Young DDS, Hendersonville NC.
