Georgiana Lynn Ferguson

Georgiana Lynn Ferguson, affectionately known as Sis and Georgie, an Indianapolis resident, passed away on May 11, 2024, at her home.  She had battled Myotonic Dystrophy, a rare and aggressive type of Muscular Dystrophy, for over 15 years.  She was born on April 9, 1979, in Franklin, Indiana at Johnson Memorial Hospital to Dennis James Ferguson and Debra Jo (Kemp) Ferguson.

Georgiana was a graduate of Mooresville High School with the class of 1998. She was filled with love, warmth, and a vibrant spirit. Georgiana's personality shone brightly through her loving nature; she cherished spending time with others and had a special fondness for giving hugs to those around her.

In addition to her loving personality, Georgiana had a deep passion for sports. She was an avid fan of the Indianapolis Colts and the Indiana Pacers. She knew the statistics and the biographical information of the players by heart. Her enthusiasm for sports brought joy to those who knew her and shared in her fandom.    She also enjoyed bowling when she was a young adult.

Georgiana will be deeply missed by all who were fortunate enough to have known her including her father, Dennis Ferguson of Indianapolis; and brother, Jamie (wife, Jennifer) Ferguson of Decatur Township.

She was preceded in death by her mother, Debra Ferguson.

Family and friends are invited to visit on Friday, May 17th from 4:00 pm to 6:00 pm in the chapel at Carlisle-Branson Funeral Service & Crematory in Mooresville.  Georgiana’s Life Celebration® Service will follow, beginning at 6:00 pm at the funeral home.  The family asks that visitors please wear Colts or Pacers attire to the service.  Following the service, her earthly remains will be cremated and then laid to rest alongside her mother in Odd Fellows Cemetery in Waverly.
