Gilbert Ross Stanner, 34, Monrovia, passed away July 25, 2021. Gil was born September 19, 1986, in Martinsville, to Ian Stanner and Vicki (Pierce) Mayo.
Gil graduated from Monrovia High School in 2005 and attended Vincennes University. He was employed in various industries during his all too short life. Gil loved basketball and all kinds of music. His huge heart, sense of humor, and his ability to make others feel important made him an incredibly likeable man. Gil knew how to treat his many friends and took great pleasure in taking care of others. His life became complete when he became engaged to his longtime best friend, Samra Everett just eight months ago. Gil loved people, and his friends loved him for his free spirit and his ability to be the life of the party. Gil will be fondly remembered by his loving family and many friends.
He was preceded in death by paternal grandparents, William and Veronica Stanner and maternal grandparents, Gilbert and Virginia Pierce; brother, Cody Mayo.
Survivors include father, Ian Stanner; mother, Vicki Mayo; son, Lennon Stanner; his soul mate, Samra Everett and her children, Harlow and Canyon; brother, Jeremy (Tyana) Stanner and their children, Kaylyn, Adalyn, Rylan, and Waylan; sister, Virginia “Ginger” Santamaria and her children, Hazel, Isaiah, Kirstin, Christopher, and Drayven; brother, Leif (Kaci) Strong; sister, Katie (Chris) Mayo and her children, Payton, Paxton, and Parker.
Friends and family will gather for Gil’s Life Celebration® Visitation Friday, July 30, 2021, 10 to 12 Noon at the Carlisle – Branson Funeral Service & Crematory. The graveside service will follow with a procession to Mt. Pleasant Cemetery, Hall, for the 12:30 graveside. Me and my dad Gilbert ross Stanner and he’s my dad I’m his son Lennon Ross Stanner we had good times together and at least he told me good night on the night he died the 25 2021 he had a great life we would go on trips and go to the zoo and even game together
