I, my mom, and Lauren truly enjoyed the time we were able to spend with your mom, usually as we listened to cheerful holiday music while spending an entire Saturday baking Christmas cookies and candies. Kati was the powerhouse who happily accepted the more mundane tasks, like scrubbing off burnt-on sugar sprinkles from the cookie sheets so that we could continue to with more fun activities like decorating cookies, eating cheeseball, and kibitzing. I remember how I chuckled when your mom washed a gallon-sized Ziploc baggie so that it could be reused! I thought, “Why would you spend time washing that baggie when you can just throw it away and use another?” But you know what?!? She rubbed off on me! I, too, now think twice about throwing away a good, only once-used Ziploc baggie, and more often than not, I wash and reuse my baggies at least once, if not twice. I owe that simple frugal and sustainability move to your mom! And whenever I wash a baggie, your mom pops foremost into my mind. I will miss Kati but will continue to always remember her fondly. She was a special lady!
Katie was a neighbor, friend and sister in Christ. We shared many laughs, conversations, thoughts, celebrations and sorrows together. We were blessed to have such an intelligent, loving and caring lady as Katy in our lives. We will miss her and she will always be remembered in our hearts. Love, Deborah, Kevin and Kierstyn
Kati was a lovely lady, so soft spoken and sweet. She was always so nice to be in her company and had a smile for everyone.
