Gregory Lee Ostler, 69, lifelong Martinsville resident, passed away peacefully in the comfort of his home with family at his side on Wednesday, July 15, 2026. Greg was born on July 23, 1956 to the late Paul Leroy Ostler and Betty (Knoy) Ostler. He led a life marked by dedication to family, hard work, honesty, and a love for the outdoors.
Greg graduated from Martinsville High School with the class of 1974. Greg was a loving husband to Patti (Keller) Ostler, whom he married on March 25, 1989. Together, they built a beautiful life filled with laughter and love on their family farm. As a proud father and grandfather, Greg’s greatest joys were his children and grandchildren. He cherished every moment spent with them and relished in sharing his love for the outdoors, particularly during hunting trips and family gatherings on the farm. Known for his tireless work ethic, he was a jack of all trades who took immense pride in caring for his farm, providing for his family, and the simple pleasures of life, such as mowing grass. He was a hard worker who believed in giving his all in everything he did.
He will be deeply missed by his friends and family including his wife, Patti Ostler of Martinsville; son, Matt (Aleicha) Ostler of Martinsville; daughters, Brittnie (Kyle) Fleck of Indianapolis and Morgan (Will) Jones of Stuttgart, Germany; sister, Chris (Randy) Richardson of Martinsville; and grandchildren, Olivia, Eliza and Ezra Ostler, Ellis Edie, and Emmett Fleck, and Beau and Cooper Jones.
In keeping with Greg’s wishes, his earthly remains have been cremated. The family will host a celebration of life service at their farm on Saturday, September 12th.
