Gussie Parrish

Gussie Parrish, 78, passed away on December 11, 2023, at her home in Indianapolis. She was born in Indianapolis on April 9, 1945, to the late James and Justine (Dittemore) Bohannon. She attended Tech High School and later earned her GED from Ben Davis. Gussie worked as an inspector for Ertle Manufacturing for 27 years.

In her free time, Gussie enjoyed watching game shows and soap operas. She loved working on word searches and puzzles, playing cards, and reading. Above all, Gussie enjoyed spending time with her family.

Gussie is preceded in death by her son, Anthony Gregory; daughters, Kathy Pierce and Rosemary Scott; grandchildren, Brandon Starker, Wendy Strong, and Timothy Gregory; and brother, William Bohannon. Survivors include her sons, Shawn Gregory and Chad Gregory; daughters, Jackie Calvert, Debbie Bishop, and Kitty Whipkey; brothers, James (Sue) Bohannon, Michael Bohannon, Chester (Linda) Bohannon, Steve Bohannon, and Paul (Joyce) Bohannon; 19 grandchildren; and many great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren.

Gussie’s Life Celebration® Visitation will be held Monday, December 18, 2023, from 2:00 P.M. to 4:00 P.M., at Carlisle – Branson Funeral Service & Crematory, Mooresville.  The Funeral Service will begin at 4:00 P.M.   1. I love you Mom. Betty and I was talking about our card games with you , fingers broke on solitary and never letting us win in 500 rummy. Texting Penny this morning so funny cause she brought up the card games you and her used to play also. Thank you for being my Mom. Hug my siblings and nephews and niece for me give dad and granny a hug for me. Until I see you again . Please keep watch over all of us you’ve left behind.
