Harold “Dutch” Rooker
86 of Mooresville, passed away on June 5, 2022, at his home, surrounded by family. Dutch was born on October 9, 1935 in Mooresville, Indiana to the late Kenneth and Thelma L. (Myrick) Rooker.
Dutch honorably served in the U. S. Marine Corps, during the Korean War. He returned home to work as a heavy equipment operator for Union Local #103, for over 40 years, retiring in 1998. He was a member of the New Life in Christ Church in Mooresville and the Plainfield Lodge #653. He enjoyed spending time with his family, taking walks in Pioneer Park, fishing and playing gospel music. He will be remembered as a strong, hardworking, faithful man, who was a wonderful husband, father, and grandfather, who will be missed.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by sister Jean Esther; brothers Kent Rooker and Rev. Bill Rooker and a daughter Debra Ann Curry.
He is survived by his wife of 60 years, Shirley Ann (Powers) Rooker; son Scott (Sheri) Rooker; daughters Rhonda Tolan, Kristal Cole, Becky Gonzalez, Darla Williams, brother Jack (Vikki) Rooker; sisters Burma O’Neal, Reba Phillips, Shelley (Jerry) Coffey; many grandchildren and several great-great grandchildren; along with many nieces and nephews.
Family and friends will gather to celebrate Dutch’s life on Friday, June 10th from 12:00pm-2:00pm at Carlisle Branson Funeral Service & Crematory, Mooresville, with services beginning at 2:00pm in the funeral home, officiated by Reverends Joyce Rooker and Sheri Rooker. Burial will follow the services in White Lick Cemetery, Mooresville, with Rev. Rick Moreland officiating.
