Hurley Edward "Ed" Wrightsman

Hurley Edward “Ed” Wrightsman, 74, of Mooresville, passed away on Thursday, October 5, 2023, at his home. He was born in Martinsville on September 9, 1949, to the late Hurley and Esther (Cooper) Wrightsman. Ed attended Martinsville schools. He married Suzanne Poe on April 27, 1968, and she survives. Ed worked as a welder fitter for over 40 years at Hue J. Baker and Farnsworth Steel where he retired in 2011.
Ed was a long-time member of the Eagles in Mooresville. He enjoyed playing pool, darts, and poker. He also spent lots of time fishing and always liked to take Suzanne out for dinner. Most importantly, Ed loved spending time with his grandchildren, who were his biggest inspiration.
In addition to his parents, Ed is preceded in death by his son, Ricky Wrightsman; grandson, Donald Wrightsman; brothers, John, Pete, Richard, Robert, and Gene Crowe; sisters, Ruth Sims and Lilly Mae Fox. Survivors include his wife of 55 years, Suzanne Wrightsman; son, Jason Wrightsman; daughters, Bionca Keeker and Bella Wrightsman; and grandchildren, Justin, Todd, and Jaylynn Wrightsman.
Final arrangements and cremation are entrusted to Carlisle Branson Funeral Service & Crematory, Mooresville. A celebration of Ed’s life will be held at a later date. I worked with Ed for a long time at Bakers & Farnsworth & always being around him, He always said things to make me laugh.I’m sorry for your loss, I’ll miss seeing him around. sending prayers for you Susie & Family.
