Carolyn and Kevin I am sorry about the loss of Aunt Dot. She was a wonderful person and always had a gentle voice. I remember going to the farm to see the family. I even remember going shopping at J C Penney in Martinsville just to see her. If I was shopping by myself and she was there I tried to find her for advice.
Dot was my Grandma Sophie’s best friend. They were a real life Lucy and Ethel or Grace and Frankie. Never one without the other. As a kid, I didn’t understand what a gift that was for me. To have so many memories that included both Grandma and Dot. But the most cherished one I have is the two of them side by side at my wedding reception. Thank you so much for sharing this amazing woman with me. She will be truly missed!
My family lived at the end of Dot and Ralph’s lane, so we would see her drive in and out to go to work every day. She was so pretty, and always dressed to the “nines”. She was a good neighbor and friend, and the Mother of my best friend, Carolyn. Our sympathies to her entire family. She will be missed. Dianna McCloud Shuler
Our heartfelt sympathy to Carolyn and the Martin Family at this sad time. Your mother was a beautiful lady and we share you loss. Your Mother was a special person. May she Rest In Peace.
Hi Carolyn. I am so sorry about Dot. It just makes me sick I didn’t know about this and even worse for not having come to see her.
