James "Jim" Taylor

James “Jim” Taylor, 83, of Mooresville, passed away on Sunday, September 24, 2023, at Life’s Journey Hospice in Avon. He was born in Indianapolis on October 17, 1939, to the late Ralph and Mary (Laughlin) Taylor. Jim graduated from Ben Davis High School and enlisted in the Army shortly after. He married Patty Graham on December 20, 1963, and she survives.
Jim was a truck driver for Roadway Express for 40 years before retiring in 2003. He was a faithful man and enjoyed attending church. Jim was a sports fanatic. He was a big Bob Knight fan and enjoyed watching IU basketball and the Colts. In his free time, Jim liked to fish, play golf, work in his yard, and capture wildlife photographs.
In addition to his parents, Jim is preceded in death by his daughter, Jaime Davidson. Survivors include his wife of 59 years, Patty Taylor; grandson, Matthew (Megha) Brown; and great-granddaughter, Myra.
Jim Taylor’s Life Celebration® Visitation will be held at the Carlisle – Branson Funeral Service & Crematory, 39 East High Street, Mooresville. Visitation will be on Thursday, September 28, 2023, from 10:00 A.M. to 11:30 A.M., with services beginning at 11:30 A.M. Burial will follow the service in White Lick Cemetery.
