  9. I had the pleasure of working with Jil closely at AAA Hoosier Motor Club, in different positions, lastly as my Admin. Asst. Her effervescence is what I will always remember, and her energy….always whizzing around. Her boisterous laugh, warm concern for others and beautiful smile will always remain with me. I was also blessed to witness her wonderful artwork. She once created lifesized artistic cutouts for a Women’s Day event at my church. I recall that she got sick before she could deliver them to me, however her dad showed up bright and early one sunny morning and dropped them off to me….she was never one not to live up to her committments. They were so lifelike, that unknowinlgy people actually ‘asked’ these cutouts for directions on where a certain room was located. Imagine the laughter we all shared, when they confessed they realized they weren’t talking to a ‘person’ at all!! 🙂 It saddens me to know that her bright and smiling face is gone, but I also know that God said, ‘come unto me all ye that labor and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest’ (Matt. 11:28). That helps me and I hope and pray it helps her family and friends. She was truly one of a kind, and I’m happy that she crossed my path! Prayerfully, Michelle Baird

  10. I was very sad to hear of Jil’s passing. I worked with Jil at AAA and even though she was my supervisor she treated me as an equal and made it a point to teach me everything I needed to know in order to become a supervisor myself. I think she was even happier than me when I was offered my first supervisor job, even if it meant leaving her short handed. Her never wavering smile and bubbly personality were infectious(even though we teased her about it) and made it a pleasure to work with her. I gained even more respect for her when I later learned she was in constant pain but still managed to keep that big smile on her face. May God bless her and her family!

  11. I meet Jil though AAA. She always had a smile on her face and a kind word to say about everyone. She was always will willing to help in no matter what. The world needs more people like her. She will be missed. My thoughts and prayers go out to her family.

  12. I worked with Jil at AAA, it broke my heart to hear of Jil’s passing. I loved the way her beautiful smile and personality pulled you into her world. I am very proud to have called her ‘my friend’.

  13. Love and prayers to you all! I hope there’s a place in heaven where we can visit….and pick a time frame of our lives and re-live them….cause I know where I will end up ….at The Mitcheners house! Swimming, camping, fishing, playing in the hedge apple tree house or in that ol barn or just hangin out in the timeless 70’s. And annoying my two little sisters Jil and Marcia! So many countless happy memories! Thank you Connie and Wayne for putting up with me. I love all u guys! Jil will always be one of the happiest, sweetest persons I have ever met! Rest in peace little sister, Its not goodbye…its ….see ya later Love you….Danny (your other brother)

  14. You never forget your first love, and that’s why losing you so soon has been so hard, Jill. You brought great joy to my life so long ago and I will always be so grateful. I realize after tonight that everyone you ever met got to experience that joy. We were all so very lucky to have known you and have many great times to remember. It’s such a relief to know that you persued and experienced so many things you loved, and that you were happy. It was a full life after all. Les you are right…live for today. All your old friends, newer friends, and family have this hole in our hearts right now. But in time it will be filled with nothing but your smile. Be at peace wherever you are. Still Love You Forever Jill. Darin
