Jim Standeford

James Standeford, 83, Mooresville, died March 5, 2013. He was born October 6, 1929, in Indianapolis, to the late Royal and Alma (Morton) Standeford.
Jim proudly served in the United States Army during the Korean War. He was a lifetime member, a Past Commander, and presently Quarter Master of the Mooresville VFW Post 1111. Mr. Standeford was also a member of the Mooresville American Legion. In his spare time, Jim enjoyed fishing and traveling.
Along with his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Mabel Standeford; brothers, Art, Bill and Richard Standeford.
Survivors include his loving life companion, Mary Short of Mooresville; children, Timothy Standeford (Tamara) of Mooresville; Kelley Ross (Gerald) of Martinsville; and Lisa; brothers, Paul Standeford of Greenwood, Jerry Standeford of Spencer, and Tim Standeford of Martinsville; grandchildren, Jessey Ross, Lindsay and Haley Standeford.
A memorial service will be held at 2 p.m., Monday, March 11, 2013, at the Mooresville VFW Post 1111, 411 S. Indiana Street. A gathering of family and friends will follow the service. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the VFW. Funeral and cremation arrangements are being handled by the Carlisle – Branson Funeral Service & Crematory, Mooresville.
