Mr. Seubert had many hobbies he enjoyed such as gardening, planting trees, bingo, and playing cards. He also liked to watch IU and Colts games, but he never forgot about his home town teams- the Bengals and the Cincinnati Reds. Memories Timeline

Guestbook

  1. I remember Dad always taking us to the park to play. We visited every park in Bloomington, big and small. He even made our home into a park. We had a baseball/kickball diamond at the bottom of the big hill, zip line across it, a huge sand box with a fire pit in the middle, basketball court, a pine tree forest (which he planted) to play hide and seek in, (Jim’s treehouse was in there too), and rope swings in the big tree at the end of the driveway. For some years we even had a pool. One summer, when we didn’t have the pool, Dad brought home large sheets of plastic for a water slide on our back hill. A very looong water slide. Our neighbor Kari came over and we had such a great time, even with unintentionally putting the red sheet of plastic (the slickest one) at the end which propelled us into what became a mud puddle. It was a blast! He created so many wonderful moments and memories for us.

  2. When you talk about him, it is so obvious what a loving man he was. And he helped make you, and you are a very loving person as well. That kindness and warmth and fun-loving nature will continue on like a ripple in this world.

  3. Dear Family members & Friends of John,
We were so sorry to hear of John’s death. I remember seeing him at Mass and Holy Communion plus when St. John,s had Special talks from our many priests over the years. Plus, he and the family were at church events too.My husband Jim worked in the same R. & D. Dept. for several years too. I know this has to be so hard for your whole family, and we will pray for him and all of you.
    Sincerely,
    Jim & Jane Reinhart

  4. We at St. John the Apostle in Bloomington missed John when he moved to the Indianapolis area. I know he loved his home and was reluctant to leave it, but he also knew it was for the best. My husband knew him best from the King’s Men meetings on Wednesday evenings. I knew him best as a member of the Pro-Life and Justice committee. He was a dedicated prayer warrior at Planned Parenthood, especially during 40 Days for Life. He also love to make pro-life posters.

I also remember how much he enjoyed it when his family joined him at St. John events, including the Chili-Cook Off. If memory serves me right, I think he took home the top prize one year for either his chili or his cornbread. Maybe both!

May God bless him and keep him safe in the palm of His hand.
    Denise and Roger Sawyer
