John James Walls

John James Walls, 79, Mooresville, passed away February 15, 2018. Mr. Walls was born August 18, 1938, in Roachdale, to the late Herman and Vivian (Riddel) Walls.

He graduated from Filmore High School at the Indiana Business College. John worked in management in various industries through the years. He was a former member of St. Luke’s Lutheran Church in Plainfield. A loving husband, father, and grandfather, he always put his family first. He was devoted, loving, wise, and caring – always putting the needs of others before his own. He loved to attend his great grandsons’ baseball games and his granddaughter’s musical competitions. John will be remembered as a kind, hard-working, and loving family man.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his siblings, William Walls, Chrystal Marks, and Audrey Heaven.

Survivors include his wife of 61 years, I’Nell (Park) Walls; children, John J. (Dolly) Walls, Jr. of North Dakota, Jane (Tim) Coverstone of Florida, Richard Walls of Cloverdale, Brian (Julia) Walls of Mooresville, and Amanda (Luis) Gonzalez of Mooresville; grandchildren, Derrick, Brenda, Drew, Ryan, Michael, Kara, and Brian Keith; great grandchildren, Luis James, Cruz, Malyssa, and Alexa.

Friends and family will gather on Monday, February 19, 2018, 4 to 7 p.m., in the chapel at Carlisle – Branson Funeral Service & Crematory, Mooresville. The funeral service will follow at 7 p.m. Cremation will follow services at the Morgan County Crematory, Mooresville. Memorial contributions may be made to the Community Foundation of Morgan County.
