John Robert Sunderlin

John Robert Sunderlin, 82, Mooresville, formerly of Chicago, Palatine, IL, and St. Petersburg, FL, died June 22, 2013. Mr. Sunderlin was born October 13, 1930, in Chicago, to the late Gustav and Augusta Sunderlin.
He proudly served in the United States Army for 20 years and retired as a Sgt. First Class. He worked in management for Service Master Corp for 20 years and retired in 1992. He moved to Indiana in 1999, where he became a life member of the Mooresville American Legion Post 103 and the VFW Post 1111. He was a member of the Waukegan Swedish Glee Club, the Sun Coast Singers, and St. Peter’s Lutheran Church, Arlington Heights, IL.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Waltraud (Unger) Sunderlin; siblings, Astrid, Irene, Ina, Rose, and Gus.
Survivors include one son, Robert G. Sunderlin (Catherine) of Plainfield, Indiana; daughter, Heidi Lykken (Luke) of Illinois; sister, Helen Roppolo (Tony)of Marco Island, FL; grandchildren, Robert J. and Alex T.; Lloyd, Kristian, Emily, Luke, and Easton; companion, Betty Record of Mooresville.
