Plainfield, Indiana – Josephine A. (Woods) Gratien, passed away at home surrounded by her family, on March 18th, 2023. Josephine was born to Harry and Mary (Fritch) Woods in Calgary, Alberta, Canada, on December 10th, 1940. She was 82 years old.
Josephine became a registered nurse while living in Canada on October 1, 1963. After moving to the United States, she married Wayne Gratien on June 12, 1976. On October 10, 1996, in one of the proudest moments of her life, Josephine became a US Citizen.
Josephine spent her free time reading, sewing, or traveling with her husband Wayne.
Josephine is preceded in death by her loving husband, Wayne Gratien; parents Harry and Mary Woods.
She is survived by her daughters Kelly Gratien (Chanel), Karyn Bellamy (Stan); sister Violet White; and grandchildren Megan and Stephanie Bellamy.
A celebration of life will be held at a later date.

Sorry Karen for loss it’s hard to loss a mom my mom pass in 1995 but seems like yesterday. I love her very much and miss her. You have a great husband and children!! They will get you though the hard days.like mine has me.God be with you. I was thankful when my dad pass it gave me comfort to no he was with mom
JoAnn was a lovely person! She was vivacious and a great conversationalist. She was artistic and it came out in her extraordinary sewing and baking skills. She will be missed.
