Josephine Jean Calandra Kennedy, 83, Mooresville, died peacefully at home on October 2, 2012. Mrs. Kennedy was born October 10, 1928, in Chicago, Illinois, to the late Anthony and Jennie (Urso) Calandra.
She was a proud homemaker and past president of the Plainfield Eagles Lodge Ladies’ Auxiliary. Mrs. Kennedy also enjoyed collecting dolls.
She was preceded in death by one sister, Rose Marie Guttilla.
Survivors include her husband, Robert K. Kennedy, to whom she was united in marriage December 6, 1944; son, Robert Lee Kennedy (Betty) of Monrovia; daughters, Barbara Alsup (Ralph) of Camby, Jan Land (Tommy) of Mooresville, and Carol Summerlot of Mooresville; sister, Bridgett Gugliemino; 10 grandchildren; and a host of great grandchildren.
The funeral service will begin at 1 p.m., Saturday, October 6, 2012, in the Carlisle – Branson Funeral Service & Crematory, Mooresville, with calling there from 5 to 8 p.m., Friday, October 5, 2012.
