Joy Trunette Lehr
78, of Mooresville, passed away on April 20, 2022 at IU West Hospital. Joy was born on October 2, 1943 in Mooresville, Indiana to the late John B. Griffith and Virginia (Clarkston) Griffith.

Joy worked for Thiesing Veneer in Mooresville for over 30 years as well as Gray Brothers Cafeteria for over 20 years, before retiring. She married Steven Lehr on October 25, 1991 and were married for 31 years. God and Family were the cornerstones of Joy’s life. She was an active member of the Eternal Life Tabernacle Church in Indianapolis, where she taught Sunday school. She also enjoyed spending time with her family, being outdoors in the sunshine and being a Grammy to her grandchildren and great grandchildren.

In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her siblings Robert “Dale” Griffith, Judy Gibson, and Jimmy Griffith.

She is survived by her husband of 31 years, Steven Lehr; children Michelle (Tom) Gardner, Tammy (Scott) Lane, Joni Stevenson, Doug (Tamera) Lehr; bonus children Shawna Rink, Joe Lyons, Katie Laker; siblings Joan Boys, Brenda Weddle, Johnny Griffith, Suzanna Griffith; grandchildren Justin Lane, Tyler Lane, Blaine Gardner, Halie Overton, Ashlynn Stevenson, Kelsi Stevenson, Briley Stevenson, Raina Moslof, Breeze Lehr; 11 great grandchildren as well as a host of nieces, nephews, and extended family, who will miss her dearly.

Friends and family will gather to celebrate Joy’s life on Sunday, April 24th from 3-8pm at Eternal Life Tabernacle Church, 4818 W. Raymond St. Indianapolis. Additional visitation will take place on Monday April 25th from 10am until service time at 11am at the church, officiated by her nephew, Pastor Mark Pingleton. Burial will follow the services in Centerton Cemetery.

Memorial contributions may be made in Joy’s memory to the Eternal Life Tabernacle Church.
