Judith Thurston

Mrs. Judith "Judy" Dianne Wagner Thurston, age 81, of Madison, Indiana formerly of Mooresville entered this life on November 10, 1940 in Shelbyville, Indiana. She was the loving daughter of the late Fred and Dorothy Long Wagner. She was raised in Shelbyville and met her future husband at the age of 14 and they shared the same birth date. She graduated in 1959 from Shelbyville High School and then graduated from Ball State Teacher's College and received her Masters in Education from Indiana University. On August 8, 1964 she was united in marriage to her sweetheart, Danny Dale Thurston in Shelbyville, Indiana. This happy union of 58 years was blessed with a son, Danny Dale Thurston, Jr. The young family moved to Mooresville and Judy worked as a second grade teacher for Northwood Elementary School retiring in 1996 after 33 years of service. Judy loved visiting the beach, traveling, reading, and knitting. She was an avid fan of IU basketball, Notre Dame football, and the Cincinnati Reds baseball. She was raised in the Methodist faith and after Judy and Dan moved to Madison to be near their son in 2015 they enjoyed fellowship at the North United Methodist Church in Madison. Judy was a devoted wife, loving mom and the best gran. She left many treasured memories with her family and students. Judy died on Saturday, September 17, 2022, at 11:30 a.m. at her home in Madison, Indiana with her loving family at her side.

Judy will be missed by her loving husband of 58 years, Danny Dale Thurston of Madison, Indiana; her beloved son, Danny Dale Thurston, Jr. and his wife, Jackie of Madison, Indiana; her loving grandchildren, Danny Dale "Trey" Thurston, III, and his wife, Pam, Patrick "Ryan" Thurston and his companion, Addison Nolan, and Trisha Dianne Thurston; her sister, Janet Dostal of Longmont, Colorado; her sister in law, Kay Tingle and her husband, Rick of Beech Grove, Indiana; her nephew, Ron Dostal of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania; and other relatives. She was preceded in death by her parents, Fred and Dorothy Long Wagner.
MEMORIAL GATHERING
There will be a memorial gathering on Sunday, October 2, 2022 from 1:00 p.m.-4:00 p.m. at the Carlisle Branson Funeral Service and Crematory, 39 East High Street in Mooresville, Indiana.

Danny, I’m so sorry! Your mom will always hold a place in my heart. So many memories and all of them good. Prayers for all of you.
I’m so sorry to hear of Judy’s passing. She was such a cherished neighbor for many years. My boys thought the world of her because she was so sweet to them. Heaven got a beautiful angel.
