Judy Russell

Julia “Judy” Ann (Vogus) Russell, 80, Plainfield, passed away peacefully with her daughter by her side on May 3, 2023, at Life’s Journey Hospice in Avon. Mrs. Russell was born October 15, 1942, in Martinsville, to the late Walter and Leatha (Balay) Vogus. She married John Poston Russell on February 22, 1964, and he preceded her in death on August 30, 2021.
Judy graduated from Martinsville High School and was a proud and capable homemaker through the years. An avid reader, she also loved birdwatching, flower gardening, and supporting various wildlife and animal non-profit efforts. Her granddaughters brought an immense amount of joy to her life, as did her beloved labradoodle, Hallie. Judy’s memory will be forever cherished by a loving family and many friends.
Survivors include her daughter, Erin (Brian) Swift of Brownsburg and granddaughters, Jolie (Ian) Francis, Olivia, Georgia, and Sydney Manning.
According to Judy’s wishes, cremation will take place and private services will be observed. Inurnment will take place at Mt. Pleasant Cemetery, Hall.
