Karen Louise Trosper

Karen Louise Trosper, age 84, of Mooresville, passed away peacefully at her home on September 23, 2026, surrounded by the warmth of the life she so beautifully built, following a brave and dignified health battle.

Born in Bellefontaine, Ohio, on July 15, 1942, Karen was the daughter of the late Charles and Ruth (Young) Grant. On February 21, 1960, she married her true love, Donald Trosper. As a proud military family, they navigated the adventure of Donald’s 20-year career in the United States Air Force, moving from base to base before finally settling down to plant deep roots in Mooresville in 1977. Donald preceded her in death in 2015, passing away on their 55th wedding anniversary.

To know Karen was to know a woman of profound strength, courage, and unconditional love. She was a proud homemaker who poured her entire heart into her family, always putting their needs above her own. As the consummate caregiver, Karen’s grace and selflessness shone brightest in her lifelong devotion to her son, John Wesley Trosper, a quadriplegic whom she fiercely loved and cared for every single day of his life.

Karen also had a wonderful way of making her house feel like a home through her cooking. Known for making everything from scratch, her kitchen was often filled with the comforting aromas of fresh homemade bread and her famous noodles. She loved nothing more than gathering everyone around the table, always eager to try out a new recipe on those she loved. Above all, her grandchildren and great-grandchildren were her ultimate pride and joy, and her eyes lit up whenever they were near.

She was one of eight children and was reunited in heaven with her beloved husband, Donald; her cherished son, John Wesley; and six of her siblings, Raymond, Barbara, Jerry, Bobby, Peggy, and Jamie.

Her beautiful, resilient spirit lives on through her surviving family: her sons, Faron (Tana) Trosper and David Trosper; her brother, Jeff (Millie) Grant; her grandchildren, Brittany (Ryan) Bailey, Clinton (Riley) Trosper, and Kaitlyn Trosper; and the great-grandchildren who brought her so much happiness, Tate, Ella-Jo, Wrenley, and Waylon.

Family and friends are invited to gather for visitation on Sunday, September 27, 2026, from 2:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. at the Carlisle–Branson Funeral Service & Crematory in Mooresville. A service celebrating Karen’s remarkable life will begin at 10:00 a.m. on Monday, September 28, 2026, at the funeral home. She will be laid to rest at White Lick Cemetery.
