Karolyn J. Napier

May 27, 1943 ~ April 20, 2026

Born in: Lansing, Michigan
Resided in: Brooklyn, Indiana

Karolyn Jean Napier came into this world on May 27, 1943, in Lansing Michigan and left this world on Monday, April 20th at 4:35 AM, in Mooresville, Indiana. She was placed in the loving care of her maternal Grandmother at birth. Where her Grandmothers love and care would lay the foundation of who she would become as she spent her first nine years in her grandmothers loving home. This relationship would prove unbreakable in Karolyn’s adult years.

Around the late time of her ninth year, she joined her mother, sister and brothers in Indianapolis, Indiana. The birth of another sister a few years later would complete the core family of her youth.

Karolyn married young and from this marriage two girls were born. Karolyn learned very early in her life how to survive the twists and turns life throws at you. She was a fierce protector of those she loved. She was loyal, forgiving and a great problem solver. She raised her two girls to be independent, loving and kind.

Life was never an easy path, but Karolyn adapted to change easily and excelled at making a home for her girls and shielding them as best she could from any hardships. She was creative, fun and easy to laugh. Karolyn had a warmness about her that people gravitated toward.

Karolyn could take any structure with four walls and make it a magical home. It would be filled with plants, food and the wonder of beauty. After her work at RCA came to an end Karolyn had a business selling craft supplies along with sewed bunnies in beautiful clothing. She instinctively knew what material combination would be popular to sell. It was during this time she had married Earl Napier who together they shared many fun adventures laughing all the way up to EJ’s passing.

Late 1997 Karolyn reconnected with Kenneth Miller. They spent twenty-nine years together. These years were filled with travel and becoming snowbirds in Arizona in the winter. They enjoyed boating, camping, the beach and the sequoias of California. This relationship not only was the longest but the truest test of the heart. They saw each other through many health events but also through the sometimes difficulties of getting through the days as they aged. Simply put…they were always there for each other.

Karolyn J. Napier leaves behind her loving partner Kenneth Miller. Children, Karen Howard-Frentress, Rita Secrest and Kenneth Miller, Jr. Grandchildren, Tyler Secrest, Kayla Secrest, Benjamin (Kourney} Frentress and Cody Miller. Great Grandchildren, Mason Cassatt, Jackson Secrest and Avery Person.

Karolyn will be laid to rest on Monday, April 27, 2026. Viewing beginning at noon on Monday at Carlisle Branson Funeral Service & Crematory, followed by a service at 2PM. Burial will follow the services at White Lick Creek Cemetery.
