Kathy (Curry) Malwitz-Onate

Kathy (Curry) Malwitz-Onate, 68, passed away peacefully on September 10, 2026, at The Waters of Martinsville. She was born in Martinsville on June 25, 1958, to the late Bobby and Janice (Stout) Curry.

Kathy was a creative and talented woman whose artistic spirit could be seen in so many things she enjoyed. She loved crocheting, crafting jewelry, and drawing, and she had a creative mind. She also had a special talent for growing and caring for houseplants, taking great pride in watching them thrive.

Kathy loved listening to all types of music and had excellent computer skills. She was intelligent, artistic, and curious, always bringing her own unique perspective to the world around her.

Those who knew Kathy will remember her for her jovial and likable personality. She had a way with people that made her memorable to everyone she met. Above all, Kathy loved her family deeply.

Survivors include her siblings, Mike Curry (Moneta), Tony Curry (Lisa), and Darlene Aguilar (Jesse); grandchildren, Aaron Ross, Selina Navarro, Emilio Navarro, Juliana Cruz, and Gabi Montoya; and several nieces, nephews, and extended family members.

In addition to her parents, Kathy was preceded in death by her children; Bobby Ross and Samantha Malwitz; and siblings, Mary Anne Moore and Vance Curry.

A graveside service will take place on Thursday, September 17, 2026 at 2:00 pm in West Newton Cemetery.
