Kathy Ilene Hinners
78, of Waverly passed away on June 28, 2023 at home, surrounded by her family. Kathy was born on September 16, 1944 in the town of Sexton in Rush County, Indiana to the late Floyd L. Thompson and Marlyn (Hungerford) Thompson.
Kathy worked as an LPN for the Methodist Home in Franklin, Morgan County Hospital and Miller’s Senior Living in Mooresville, retiring in 2006 after 24 years of service. She was a member of the Bluff Creek Christian Church. She enjoyed playing the piano, gardening, camping, crochet, playing computer games and watching her favorite TV show, Family Feud.
She was preceded in death by her husband, James W. Hinners, and a daughter in law Judy.
She is survived by her sons John David Hinners, Ruben James (Tina) Hinners; daughter Regina Anne (Blaine) Alleman; grandchildren Emily Jean, Alexis, Felecia, Kyra, Sean, Nicholas, Eric; great grandchildren Liam, Kooper, Tucker, Traislynn, Hailie, Charlotte, Zachary, Aaron, as well as a great-great grandchild.
Family and friends will gather for Kathy’s life on Friday, July 7th from 4-8pm at Carlisle Branson Funeral Service & Crematory, Mooresville. Services will be held on Saturday, June 8th at 10am in the funeral home. Burial will follow the services in IOOF Cemetery, Waverly.
