  1. So glad I was able to spend time with him both this summer on the motorcycle trip and also right before Christmas this year. I made sure I kissed his cheek atleast three times the last time I saw him. He had a huge grin on his face that I will never forget. I also made sure and said, ‘I love you’, every time I kissed him. I wish I had known him longer; but some people are only in our lives for a reason, some for a season, and others for a lifetime. I am not privy to why God put him in my life for only a short season, but I am grateful he did.

  2. I am so sorry to hear about Lanny. It has been many years since we worked together at Indiana Gas Company but I still vividly remember him as if it were yesterday. He was very dedicated to his job and to his family. But what made a lasting impression on me was how pleasant he was to work with regardless of the circumstances. At the time he was operations supervisor whose responsibility it was to schedule and maintain all of the company’s production information processes. An onerous task that has no equivalent in today’s world. Typically, when we worked together it was under the most intense circumstances. Lanny always remained calm and focused on the task at hand. He had the innate ability to deal with pressure while maintaining a pleasant disposition. This notion may not seem important to others but in my experience it is unusual if not unique and I have remembered him for that quality all of these years. Larry Fahrenkamp

  3. To the family, Lanny and his mother too, were good Euchre players, friends, and neighbors. We will miss him. Ron Peterson

  4. I have many fond memories of uncle Lanny from early childhood on. He and his family were often with us on camping trips. Lanny was always fun to be around, and we loved him dearly. I feel like we reconnected over the past few years, and that’s a real blessing. I’m so sorry that we were unable to come and pay our respects in person, but it wasn’t to be. We’re praying for the family.
