  1. Marilyn, our prayers for Larry are with him. So sorry for your loss. Sending prayers for you always. Love you. Mike & Betty Thompson

  2. As tears roll down my face, I know you’re in a better place. I close my eyes to see your face, suddenly I feel a warm embrace. With a smile so wide it brings tears to my eyes. I try so hard not to cry all of my pain I cannot hide. You always knew just what to say to anyone having a bad day. I don’t know if I will ever understand but it must be part of God’s plan. As I look up towards the blue sky I imagine you spreading your wings to fly. Be sure to give your children a sign so they know you are in Heaven, and everything is fine. Tell everyone there I send my love, to all of the Angels up above. As the tears roll down my face I know you are in a better place. RiP Larry, I will miss you so. Love, Linda Powell

  3. I’m really not sure how many years Larry and I, along with Steve and Lloyd golfed together, but it was always a time of laughter, camaraderie and good-natured razzing. Hopefully, Larry is seeing an endless parade of skinny Laura Davies and truly “hot” women on 3-wheeled bikes in long black coats. Those are two of the most unforgettable laughter-filled moments that Larry provided, all with a look of supreme innocence (which was real). He lifted spirits just by his mere presence. He and Marilyn shared one of the strongest bonds that I have seen in any couple. We will miss him greatly.

  4. I never had a big brother( until my younger brothers all passed me up). I spent a lot of time during summer breaks at the Jackson house. Larry was only one year older than me, but Sharon & I were great friends. He was her big brother , & was always so cool & nice. Never complained about our silly games & adventures, & never acted like we got in his way or on his nerves. Although I’m sure we did. That was the way he always seemed to me. Always sweet, polite,& kind to everyone. With a joke now & then like his dad. I was so sorry to hear of his passing. He will be greatly missed.

  5. Marilyn, our hearts are heavy…our hearts are broken. We were blessed to have been a part of his Florida ‘circle of friendship’ and will never forget his gentleness, his kindness, his optimism. We have lost a special person; the Lord has received a special angel. Our love, David and Karen

  6. Larry has always been one of the “good guys”. Always ready with a smile and some little remark to make you laugh. Although he was serious with his golf it was always fun to play with him. Our time spent with Larry and Marilyn will always remain in our memory. The last outing other than dinners was New Years Eve and I have proof the two of them can “cut the rug”. Larry you will surely be missed by us and many others your life touched. Rest in peace, you fought the fight now it’s time to rest. Donna Dorsey and Ken Thompson.

  7. I don’t ever remember Larry not smiling and helping everyone, even when he got his diagnosis. He was a loving, kind, gentleman. He will be missed by everyone who knew him!

  8. Larry was my boss at Amtrak years ago. I never seen him get mad, he always had a very positive attitude ( and that was hard to do at Amtrak). I would always ask him how he kept his bald head so shiny. He was very easy to work for. My prayers to his family. We lost a good person but heaven gained a great soul. R.I.P.

  9. One of the best neighbors ever. Always willing to lend a hand and always supportive of our endeavors in life. A great friend and a joy to have known. Prayers for Marilyn and the rest of the family. He will be greatly missed.

  10. Larry was a real class act. Loved playing golf with him and sharing a lot of laughs and great memories. Claudia and I will miss those dinners at Muggs, New years at the Mainlands, and all those impromtu get together. He was great patriot and we are all thankful for his service in Vietnam..Rest in peace my friend we will miss you

  11. Marilyn , my heart is braking for you and Larry’s family. I didn’t know him long but he was such a sweet man, he made me feel so special, as I know he made everyone he knew. I will miss his wonderful smile. You are in my thoughts and prayers.

  13. I have such wonderful memories of my time spent with Larry. Family camping trips, boy scouts and most of all playing in our band The Beasts. He was a wonderful man that will be missed.

  14. I worked with Larry and we played a lot of golf together, had a lot of good times. A very special Man. Farewell my friend & Brother

  16. Larry was a special man to everyone that knew him, I am so sorry to hear of his passing, I worked side by side with Larry for 20 years. He will surely be missed . Jim tackett

  17. When I heard of Larry’s passing I felt so many emotions run thru my body. He was a wonderful man as we grew up together _ going to proms, picnics with David and Peggy Shiar, camping and many more things, I’m sure he is in a better place and send thoughts and prayers to his family

  18. I have known Larry since he was 10, funny, caring, love of family. He loved being busy, always working on things. And of course he loved to eat, he meant a lot of his friends ,At the eating holes to many to mention. He will be missed.

  19. Larry and Marilyn moved in Mainlands a few years ago and we couldn’t have asked for better neighbors. Whenever we needed help with something Larry was always there for us. We enjoyed going to Taco Tuesdays together and shared many laughs. Sometimes we would see Larry at Freedom Park on Wednesdays where he sailed his remote sailboat with his sailing club. Sometime Larry and Marilyn would take us on their golf cart around Mainlands. Larry would never admit that the Gophers were better than the Boilermakers lol. Larry will Forever Be in Our Hearts. Dennis and Cheryl Correa

  20. I met Larry a few life times ago when he first started at Amtrak, he was driving a yellow jeep. Always good tempered, smiled through the stuff at the railroad, a sad thought he is not here, but I believe he is watching from above.

  21. A lifetime friend as it turned out. Our families grew up together through school, high school band and the Beasts, boy scouts explorer scouts and we kept in touch always. Larry and Marylin got back in touch with me after they got back together. We went out to eat very often and Larry helped me launch my boat which had quit running and would not start. After trying to start several times Larry said to try it just one more time. Boom! the boat started again! After that “Just one more time” became a mantra that we often repeated and would laugh. Larry was family period. The loss of a family member is deeply felt and he will never be forgotten. Thank you Larry for your friendship.

  22. Ah, Marilyn, Lloyd and I are so very sorry for your loss. I know how much you and Larry loved each other. We have such good memories of golfing with Larry and the golf dinners where Larry would, occasionally, put his foot in his mouth (quite innocently mind you:)) Condolences, Marilyn. He will be missed. Georgina and Lloyd Stone

  23. We are deeply saddened by the passing of Larry, a truly nice guy. We were blessed to be part of his Florida friends. We always enjoyed a round on the course or sharing a meal afterward. He was kind to everyone and will be missed by us all. We send our love and strength to you Marilyn, the love of his life. Michael and Christina Cormier

  24. After high school our paths crossed far too infrequently. When they did, the constant was Larry’s smile…it was genuine.

  25. My wife and I met Larry and Marilyn around 2006 they were just moving in their house on Hadley Rd. across the street from us, Larry asked me about an old car I had in the drive way, asked if it was for sale, he bought it, we quickly became good friends with him and Marilyn, done breakfast about ever Sunday for sometime. Sure enjoyed the time spent with them both! Larry! you will be sadly missed, your kind heart made a change in me. Bert and Brenda Ganstine

  26. I’ve enjoyed Larry’s friendship for most of my life. I don’t know anyone who was better at making friends of strangers. On numerous occasions I consulted him on various tasks and projects. He was always generous with his time, and a good teacher and coach. In our twenties I organized a just-for-fun 8-man handball tournament. For several weeks we played on Saturday, then let our hands heal, and played again the next Saturday. Of course, Larry won. I will always remember him as the winner of the “Puckered Palm Classic”…and a good friend. Dennis Parr

  27. I met Larry back in the early 1970’s and we worked together at Combs Gates as aircraft mechanics. Marilyn and my wife Bernadette became very close and the four of us had so many good times. Larry was a light hearted spirit free person that loved life family and friends. We stayed in touch over the years and our hearts are broken in losing our good friend. I’ll miss you Larry.
