Larry Jon Gajderowicz, 76, Newburgh, Indiana, passed away May 13, 2026.  Larry was born August 7, 1949, in Beech Grove, Indiana, to the late Henry and Ruth (Willey) Gajderowicz.  He married his beloved wife, Joanie, on June 1, 1985, and she survives.

Larry was a proud 1967 Mooresville High School graduate and earned a degree in Pharmacy Science and Technology from Purdue University in 1972.  Larry moved to various cities and states for work until settling in the Evansville area when he became employed with Escalade Sports.  He worked in management at Escalade Sports for 17 years and traveled extensively during that time.  He later became an ESL teacher with VIPKid Global.  Larry eventually became a Synod Authorized Minister in the Lutheran Church, serving as pastor of St. Luke Lutheran Church in Newburgh.

While Larry had not lived in Mooresville since graduating from high school, he remained deeply connected to his roots.  He never missed an opportunity to catch up with high school friends and stayed incredibly close to his family and extended family.

Larry had a passion for sports and was an avid Boilermaker and Cubs fan.  He was working towards visiting every major league baseball stadium and had traveled to every state except North Dakota.  Larry lived life to the fullest.  He loved music and will be remembered for his wonderful sense of humor and never-ending practical jokes.

Referred to as “The Golden Boy”, Larry had an ability to fall into some less than desirable situations, yet always came out smelling like a rose.  He was an influential and incredibly positive role model to his sisters, nieces, nephews, and cousins.  Simply put, Larry was loved and admired.

In addition to his parents, Larry was preceded in death by his sister, Susan Gajderowicz.

His loving family includes his wife, Joanie; son, Jason (Carrie) Gajderowicz; sisters, Linda (Gordon) Esterline, Laura Gajderowicz, and Julie (the late Tim) Wallman; granddaughter, Lena; nieces and nephews, Ben (Jennifer) Esterline, Katie Esterline, Tyler Wallman, Jake (Rayanne) Wallman, and Jordan (Whitney) Wallman, and Stacy Goen; great nephew, Connor Esterline.

Friends and family are invited to remember, honor, and celebrate the life of Larry Jon Gajderowicz on Friday, May 29, 2026, 5 to 7 p.m., at the Carlisle – Branson Funeral Service & Crematory.  An opportunity to share memories will follow at 7 p.m.  Instead of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to St. Luke Lutheran Church or to the Mooresville High School Alumni Scholarship c/o the Community Foundation of Morgan County.  www.CarlisleBranson.com

  1. I am sad to see this today. Larry was very supportive of me when I was playing sports at Mooresville High School. He seemed to know the struggles that came with many aspects of high school life. He had a smile it seemed like all the time all the time during those years. Rest in peace my friend.

      On August 4th 2026 at 1:00 PM.
This was very important to him. So please put this on your Calendar.
      Thank you.

  2. Condolences to the whole Gajderowicz family. I had the great pleasure to meet many of you during my visit in Evansville during the 90s.
Larry was a wonderful person, very intelligent, generous and kind. I will always cherish the memories of our discussions. Rest in peace, my friend.

  3. My rock, “pea in a pod”, friend, big brother, motivator, advisor, advocate. I was blessed to have this amazing man as a part of my life . I love the way he had time for everyone and enfluenced, empowered, and elevated them. He was a man who lived a full life focused on Faith, Family, and Friends. While I will never have the chance to tell him again on Earth what all he means and has meant to me I know that he knows. – Until we meet again.❤️
