Leann Kay Pryor

Leann Kay Pryor, 61, of Mooresville, passed from this life all too soon on Thursday, January 18, 2024 at her home.  She was born on August 9, 1962 in Beech Grove to Patricia Ann (Kearby) Taylor and the late Donald Lee Taylor.

She graduated from Mooresville High School with the class of 1980.  While in high school, Leann enjoyed playing basketball for the Pioneers and was proud to have made it the final four.  She then went on to further her education earning her Bachelor of Science in Nursing from Indiana University in 1984.  She worked as a Registered Nurse at many hospitals in central Indiana.  She married her best friend, Carl Douglas “Doug” Pryor, on October 17, 1997.

Leann loved animals including dogs, birds, and more.  She greatly enjoyed gardening, music, the pool, true crime TV shows, and the Hallmark Channel.  A sports fan, she loved cheering on the Indianapolis Colts and the Indiana Pacers.  Leann hated to be cold but had a warm heart and loved her family more than anything.  One of her greatest joys was cooking and entertaining for holidays.

She leaves behind her family and friends including her husband, Doug Pryor of Mooresville; daughter, Bailey Pryor of Westfield; step-son, Jordan (wife, Michaela) Davis of Southport; sister, Vicki Taylor of Mooresville; grandchildren, Blakely Davis and Carter Davis; and niece and nephew, Paigelynn Taylor and Dayton (wife, Breyanna) Taylor.

She was preceded in death by her father, Donald Taylor; and brother, Douglas Taylor.

Leann’s earthly remains have been cremated.  The family will host a celebration of life service on Sunday, January 28th from 1:00 pm to 4:00 pm at Aberdeen Apartments Clubhouse, 8680 Walnut Grove Drive, Camby, IN 46113.  There will be food and refreshments provided.

The cremation has been entrusted to Carlisle-Branson Funeral Service and Crematory in Mooresville.

  3. I’m so sorry for the loss of LeAnn. I had once had the privilege of working with her, her mother and Bailey. She was certainly warmed hearted and definitely a breath of fresh air when you were around her. I know she will be forever missed and loved by all. May she rest peacefully.
