Linda Joyce Helton, 79, of Mooresville, left us peacefully on Wednesday, July 15, 2026 at Indiana University Methodist Hospital in Indianapolis. Born on January 13, 1947 in Evansville to the late Curtis Kewon and Aileen (Miller) Kewon Ehrenberg, Linda was a devoted mother, a hardworking professional, and a true friend to many, leaving behind a legacy of strength and resilience.
Linda dedicated 27 years of her life to her career as a group leader at Carrier in Indianapolis, where her commitment to her work reflected her unwavering desire to care for her family. She was not only known for her indomitable work ethic but also for the pride she took in nurturing her loved ones at home.
She married James W. Helton on April 17, 1975, and together they built a life filled with love until his passing on April 12, 2013.
Throughout her life, Linda found joy in the simple pleasures of fishing and being outdoors. Whether she was casting her line into the water or taking in the beauty of nature, these moments brought her peace and happiness, reminding us all of the beauty in the world around us.
She leaves behind her loving family including her daughter, Terri (husband, Jonathan) Walden of Avon; sons, Don (wife, Missy) Bostic of Indianapolis, Mark Bostic of Mooresville, and James Helton II of Mooresville; sister, Vicky Anderson of Indianapolis; brother, Mike Ehrenberg of Indianapolis; and nine grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Curtis Kewon and Aileen Ehrenberg; husband, James Helton; and brother, Kenneth “Biff” Ehrenberg.
In keeping with Linda’s wishes, her earthly remains have been cremated. She will later be interred in the columbarium at Mount Pleasant Cemetery in Hall.
