Lorene Shannon, 62, Mooresville, passed away on April 5, 2013, in her residence. She was born September 13, 1950, in Laurel County, Kentucky, to the late Dolphus Woodson and Hazel (Benge) Brown.
Lorene enjoyed reading books, gambling, and watching soap operas. She looked forward to vacationing in Destin, Florida and traveling to casinos with her husband. Above all, Lorene was a loving mother and wife. She will be dearly missed by her family and all who knew her.
Along with her parents, she was preceded in death by a son, Douglas W. Shannon and daughter, Rhondagail Shannon.
Survivors include her loving husband, Ronnie G. Shannon of Mooresville; daughter, Sherry Hutchinson (Michael) of Camby; brothers, Cline Brown of Greenwood and Claude Brown of Plainfield; sisters, Josephine Cobb of Avon, Geri Wells of Alabama; Aleene Riley of Mooresville, Earlene Flores of Martinsville, and Sheila Brown of Martinsville; grandsons, Austin Douglas Shannon of Mooresville, Nicholas Edward and Landon Wayne Hutchinson of Camby.
The funeral service will be held at 1 p.m., Wednesday, April 10, 2013, in the Carlisle – Branson Funeral Service & Crematory, Mooresville, with calling there from 5 to 8 p.m., Tuesday, April 9, 2013. Your family is in our thoughts and prayers during this difficult time of loss. I remember all the fun we had as kids when visiting Lorene and her family near London Kentucky, where I was born.
