Marguerite “Peggy” Greene Shaw
77, of Mooresville, passed away on May 4, 2022 at home. Peggy was born on September 19, 1944 in Chicago, Illinois to the late Joseph Greene and Evelyn (Jarvis) Greene.
Peggy loved to read, especially the Eloise book series and flowers, especially orchids. She also enjoyed watching mystery shows on television. She owned and operated the Misty Mountain Bed & Breakfast in North Carolina for many years, before moving to Georgia and most recently to Indiana to be closer to family. She will be dearly missed.
In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by a sister Lucinda Greene Griffin and a brother Joseph Greene, II.
She is survived by her sister Sally (Paul) Harmon, nephews Josh Harmon, Jon Harmon, and Joseph Greene, III.
Her wishes were to simply be cremated and scattered, with no formal services being observed.

To Peg’s family, I send my heartfelt sympathy for the death of your sister. I live near Atlanta, GA, and am the daughter of Peg’s mother’s best childhood friend Louise Roth terHorst in Arlington Heights IL. I enjoyed meeting Peg both at Misty Mountain Inn and also here in Atlanta. We shared a love of French cuisine. I’ve been concerned about Peg for more than a year because she didn’t return calls or letters. I’m sad to learn about her death this past week because I’ve been thinking about her a lot this spring.
