Maria C. Ortiz
56, of Camby, passed away on November 15, 2020 at her home. Maria was born on May 30, 1964 in Rio Bravo, Mexico to the late Maria Felix (Ramirez) Ortiz and Roberto Ortiz Hernandez.

Maria and her family immigrated to the United States in the 1980’s settling in Aurora, Illinois, later moving to Texas and finally Indiana where she was proud to become a naturalized US Citizen in 2000. Maria worked at Nice Pak in Mooresville for several years. A hard working, self-sufficient woman, Maria raised her three children. She enjoyed raising birds, dancing and had a passion for taking photography and video. Her family will miss her very much.

She is survived by her children Marsha Baker (spouse Rick A. Baker Jr.), Christopher Antonio (partner Amber Collins), Herrin R. Cuellar; longtime partner Rubio Cuellar; sisters Maria Ludivina Escalante, Sonia I. Rodriguez; brothers Roberto Ortiz, Fernando Ortiz, Rene Ortiz, David Ortiz, Alonzo Ortiz and 3 grandchildren, Elizabeth Mae Lyn Baker, Rebecca Evelyn Baker and Alanna Maria Baker; and many nieces, nephews and cousins.

Visitation will be held Friday, Nov. 20th from 3-5pm at Carlisle- Branson Funeral Service & Crematory, Mooresville, with services beginning Friday at 5:00pm in the funeral home.

  2. I first met Maria about 15 years ago when Rubio and I worked together and she would bring him lunch sometimes. She always took such good care of her family. I know she will be dearly missed. My prayers and condolences to your family.

  3. Maria was so very kind. I liked her from the first moment I met her. I knew she was special because my daughter in law is so kind and is all about family. Just like her mom. You see we were grandmas together. I never had to share before. But it was the greatest she loved our girls as much as me. She was so good to them. She called them her princesses!!!! I loved that!! I loved that she was all about family! She was always so happy!! And I saw how much my son loved her!! I could see how much she loved him. She was so good to him!! And her kids Marsha, Chris and Herron you could see the love. And all 3 are so nice and polite and just really great. She raised them to be so awesome!! She is going to be so missed!!! I know I’m going to miss her very much!!!
