Mary L. Featherston

Mary L. Featherston, 79, Mooresville, passed away tragically in a house fire on September 9, 2019. Mary was born August 2, 1940, in Sullivan, Indiana, to the late Alvin and Ella Stinnett. Her husband of 60 years, Donald, also died on Monday.

She graduated from Greencastle High School. Mrs. Featherston worked for a period of time at IGA in Mooresville before owning and operating Featherston’s Daycare for 25 years. Mary was an avid bowler, loved to sew, and enjoyed watching game shows and old westerns on TV. She was also an accomplished gardener and was especially fond of pansies and marigolds. Mary always looked forward to Christmas and the gift giving associated with her favorite holiday.

In addition to her parents and her husband, Don, she was preceded in death by two sons, Jeff and Donald; and a sister, Patty Stinnett.

Survivors include two daughters, Christine Featherston and Becky Gilkeson; brothers, John, Alvin, and Danny Stinnett; sisters, Ruthie McDonald and Sarah Patterson; five grandchildren; twelve great grandchildren.

Visitation will be on Monday, September 16, 2019, 12 Noon until 2 p.m., in the Monrovia Church of the Nazarene.
