Mary Louise Hoffarth
79, of Greencastle, passed away on February 19, 2022 at home, surrounded by her family. Mary was born on January 14, 1943 in DeMotte, Indiana.
Mary received her master’s degree in education from Indiana University. Mary taught for the Indianapolis Public Schools Adult/Day Education program for many years, retiring in 2008. She was a member of Mt. Gilead Church in Mooresville, the Red Hat Society and the Indiana Appaloosa Association. She will be dearly missed by her loving family and friends.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of over 40 years, William Hoffarth.
She is survived by her sons Jason (Helena) Hoffarth, James (Cynthia Hensley) Hoffarth; sisters Carol, Ann; 6 grandchildren and 2 great grandchildren.
A celebration of Mary’s life will take place on Saturday, April 30th from 11am-8pm at the Mooresville American Legion Post #103.
Memorial contributions may be made in Mary’s memory to the Putnam County 4H Horse and Pony Cub or to St Jude’s Children’s Hospital.

I was with my dad jamie in the dumo truck and he got mad because i read in a book on how to spread stone and told him he was doing it wrong so he dropped me off at mawmahs and she asked if i wanted a chicken sandwich and what i wanted on the sandwich i told her mayo and cheese… She hands me the plate and i ate a mayo and cheese sandwich because i didnt have the heart to tell her she forgot the chicken on the sandwich
My favorite moments with my grandma was when I got to see her every day before my parents go to work I got dropped off at her house I loved her so much and I wish she could be with me today i love her so much.
