I loved going to my grandma’s house when I was growing up. I remember sleeping in the spare room with the bed piled high and tight with blankets. I remember waking up to pancakes and homemade syrup. I remember eating Sunday dinner with grandma’s famous homemade noodles and Beef Roast. And the Banana Creme Pie!! I most fond memories are of grandma at my sporting events. Oh goodness. She would give the umpires and referees heck!! What I would give to hear her argue with an umpire again, even though I was really tagged out. I loved my trips to the lake and the butcher shop. Visiting her at the flower shop to see what she was creating. We all loved you very much. Jenny Hummel, grand daughter

When I think of grandma I see her with beautiful red hair in a bee hive hairdo. Like Jenny my best childhood memories are the sleepovers. We would always bake up something sweet..a mixer for grandpa..a mixer and spoon for me and when she was done she would ask ‘want to lick the bowl’ pure kid heaven. Sunday dinner was a big spread. Beef roast, homemade noodles, and pineapple upside down cake were my favorites. A lot of my fondest memories involve her kitchen….. Sitting with her and grandpa at the table talking about the day over a cup of coffee. Watching mom curl her hair. Creating a masterpiece with silk and cut flowers. Teaching me How to can vegetables from the garden and season an iron skillet. Grandma fought a long hard battle with Alzheimer’s. It stole her memories but not mine. I hope to follow in her footsteps and pass on what she has taught me. Love my family with the ferocity that she did and make them feel as special as she did me. I love you grandma…you will forever live on in my heart. Rest In peace hand in hand with grandpa once again. Missy
So much love and so many memories…how can you wrap them all into one thought? I will simply say she was one tough lady who was never afraid to speak her mind and never afraid to say I Love You. She is finally at Peace in God’s Kingdom. Thank you to all who have sent well wishes and prayers. Our family is thankful for your thoughtfulness. Steph <3
