Maurine Asher

Maurine McCullough Asher, 87, Mooresville, died January 1, 2012, in Miller’s Merry Manor, Mooresville. Mrs. Asher was born July 6, 1924, in Gosport, to the late Fred and Gysie (Butterfield) McCullough.
She graduated from Quincy High School and attended Indiana Business College. Mrs. Asher worked in the library at Newby Elementary in Mooresville and for Dr. Sterrett. She was a faithful member of the First United Methodist Church and enjoyed being a part of the Sewing Circle at church.
Survivors include her husband, Wilbur Asher, to whom she was united in marriage June 28, 1951; son, David Asher (Leslie) of West Lafayette; daughter, Janet Gibbs (Dennis) of Plainfield; sister, Mildred Smith of Bloomington; grandchildren, Daniel and Duane Gibbs, Emily and Isaac Asher, and Sydney Wampler; great grandchildren, Haylea, Korbin, and Kason.
The funeral service will begin at 10 a.m., Wednesday, January 4, 2012, at Carlisle – Branson Funeral Service & Crematory, Mooresville, with calling there from 4 to 8 p.m., Tuesday, January 3, 2012. Burial will be in Gosport Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to the First United Methodist Church, Mooresville. Maurine and Wilbur were my neighbors for several years. They were great neighbors and good people.
Maurine and Wilbur both always had bright smiles even when it was a ‘bad’ day. We will miss you Mauring. Judy McAuley
