Nathan Stockhoff

Nathan Stockhoff, 56, Corydon, formerly of Mooresville, passed away unexpectedly on February 27, 2023.  Nathan was born October 21, 1966, in Indianapolis, to the late Charles Junior and Audrey (Fishburn) Stockhoff.  He married Anna Lea (Sullivan) Stockhoff on June 4, 1988, and she survives.  The two would have celebrated their 35th wedding anniversary this June.

Nathan grew up in the Eagledale neighborhood in Indianapolis and graduated from Cardinal Ritter High School in 1985.  Early on, he worked for Universal Flavors and Praxair.  Nathan began a career with Ford Motor Company in 1997 and recently was recently honored with 25 years of employment.  When the company closed in Indianapolis, he and the family relocated to Corydon, where he continued his employment at the Louisville LAP plant.  He was a member of Local Union 1111 in Indianapolis and 862 in Louisville.

From an early age, it was very clear that Nathan was born with a musical talent.  He could play numerous instruments by ear, was an accomplished vocalist, wrote music, and played in the bands Falcon Drive and Southern Gospel Singers.  He could play the banjo, guitar, piano, and many other instruments effortlessly.  Also very strong in his faith, Nathan had been a member of Gethsemane General Baptist Church, where he also served as a deacon, and attended First General Baptist Church.  Nathan was an avid outdoorsman, hunter, and fisherman.  He enjoyed  collecting guns and wheelhorse antique tractors.  To say that he took pride in his lawn is an understatement.  Nathan had already mowed this season and was preparing the lush grass with preemergent, and all of the necessary fertilizer to ensure his lawn was tops.  Nathan’s family was his all-time love though, and the addition of grandchildren in recent years made it even more special.  He adored being their Pappy.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by an infant daughter, Courtney Brianne Stockhoff; sisters, Kimberly Gail Kienzle and Beverly Kerley.

Survivors include his wife of 34 years, Anna Lea Stockhoff; children, Justin Clay (Chenea) Stockhoff and Lindsey Michelle (Tyler) Fessel; siblings, Kevin (Jennifer) Stockhoff and Phyllis Gilliatt-Brightwell; grandchildren, Raelyn Monroe, Cooper Gray, Renley Mae, Remy Magnolia, and Baby boy Fessel, who is due in August.

Nathan’s Life Celebration® Visitation and Funeral Service will be held at River Valley Christian Church, 4295 Egbert Road, Martinsville, IN 46151.  Visitation will be on Friday, March 3, 2023, 4 to 8 p.m., and the funeral service will begin at 11a.m., Saturday, March 4, 2023, with additional visitation from 10 a.m.  The burial will be in White Lick Cemetery, Mooresville.  Memorial contributions may be made to First General Baptist Church or to Gethsemane General Baptist Church.  Carlisle – Branson Funeral Service & Crematory, Mooresville, serves the family.  Visit
