Rae Seaton Tennery

Rae Seaton Tennery, 79, of Mooresville died Sunday, October 27, 2013. He was born in Crawford County, Michigan June 26, 1934 to the late James and Rachel Tennery.

He is preceded in death by his daughter, Kathleen Ann Tennery, who died August 3, 1997.
Rae married the love of his life, Rita Ann Brock, in 1957. He was a proud member of the United States Marine Corps and a volunteer firefighter for 17 years at the Bristol-Kendall Fire Department in Yorkville, Illinois. Rae retired as a supervisor at Western Electric after almost thirty years of service. He and his wife were long time members of Mooresville United Methodist Church. Rae and Rita wintered in Casa Grande, Arizona, where he enjoyed crafting hand turned bowls. Rae lived a life worthy of the Marine Corps motto, “Semper Fi”- Always Faithful- to his family, friends, and God.

He is survived by his wife of 56 years, Rita Ann Brock Tennery; his two daughters, Susan Lynn Kessler of Franklin, Indiana and Karen Elizabeth Ashton of Elgin, Illinois; his brother, Michael Tennery of Hayden, Idaho; his three granddaughters, Jennifer Lynn Kessler of Cincinnati, Ohio, Katelyn Marie Kessler of Indianapolis, Indiana, and McKenna Nicole Ashton of Elgin, Illinois.

Visitation will be held Tuesday, October 29, 2013 from 4:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at Carlisle – Branson Funeral Service & Crematory. The funeral service will be held at 10:00 a.m. Wednesday, October 30, 2013 at Mooresville First United Methodist Church where Dennis Payton will conduct services. Burial to follow at Stilesville Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Mooresville First United Methodist Church; 900 Indianapolis Rd Mooresville, IN 46158.

  2. The Elo family has warm memories of Rae at church and his kind and generous spirit. The bowl we have that Rae made will be a treasure for our family and a reminder of his presence in our lives. We celebrate with Rae that he’s at ‘the party’ with Jesus, Moses, Ray Land, Sandy Houppart, Ben and so many others. But we know that Rita and family are missing him deeply.
