Raymond Gordon Meiring

September 13, 1935 ~ February 7, 2012
Raymond Gordon Meiring went to be with the Lord on February 7, 2012. He was born on September 13, 1935 to Clyde and Bernice Meiring. His parents preceded him in death. On March 19, 1955, he married Vada Mae Wyckoff Meiring who passed away on November 20, 1990. He later married Rhea Grass Meiring on September 21, 2002 who survives.
Additional survivors include his children; Michelle McNeil (Randy), Mike Meiring (Linda), Peggy Hardy (Darrell), Debbie Kale (Mark), and Patti Meiring, 20 grandchildren, and 15 great-grandchildren, 1 great-great-grandchild, his siblings; Bud (Mary) Meiring, Darlene Porter (Dennis), and Greg (Debbie) Meiring, and step-children, Teresa Wyatt, Tabatha Williamson, and Shawna Breeding.
Gordon was an active member of Gasburg Baptist Church. He worked most of his life in the grocery business at Richard’s Market Basket, 7-11, and O’Malia’s in Indianapolis, before he bought his own grocery and video store in Monrovia in 1976. He continued working at ATA and Penske Honda & Chevrolet during his retirement. He enjoyed fishing and being outdoors.
The funeral service will begin at 1 p.m., Friday, February 10, 2012, in Gasburg Baptist Church, Mooresville, with calling there from 4 to 8 p.m., Thursday, February 9, 2012. Rev. Jack Elliott will officiate. Burial will be in Bethesda Cemetery, Brownsburg. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the church.
