Raymond Louis Martin

September 7, 1989 ~ October 19, 2021
Raymond Louis “Ray” Martin, 32, Clayton, formerly of Fredon, New Jersey, passed away October 19, 2021. Ray was involved in a motorcycle accident on August 11, and although his injuries were severe, he bravely fought to recover. Ray was born September 7, 1989, in Newton, New Jersey, to Robert L. and Beth (Heller) Martin.
He graduated from Kittatinny High School in Hampton, New Jersey and furthered his education at Lincoln Tech. Always mechanically minded, Ray worked in the automotive industry for several years before joining his parents in Indiana several years ago. He most recently was employed at DHL.
Ray was a strongly spiritual man who was baptized with his brother at Yellow Frame Presbyterian Church in New Jersey. From a very young age, he was interested in bikes and motorcycles, especially Harley Davidsons. He loved to go fast and was a natural daredevil. Ray was also musically inclined and played the guitar and bass. He loved the outdoors – camping, hiking, and hunting. Ray was a free spirit and always looked forward to the next new adventure. Above all, he was strongly devoted to his family. He loved his two brothers, and also had a strong circle of friends who were all brothers to Ray. His presence in his nieces and nephews’ lives was second to none. Ray loved to watch them grow and prosper.
Ray’s 32 years will be forever cherished by his loving family including his parents, Robert and Beth Martin; brothers, Roy Thomas (Shalyn) Martin and Ryan Lloyd Martin; grandmother, Ella Martin; nieces and nephews, Robert John, Royce Xavier, Tiberius Good, Aylyn, and Saylor; former sister-in-law, Kim Martin; many aunts, uncles, cousins.
Ray’s Life Celebration® memorial service will begin at 1:30 p.m., Saturday, October 30, 2021, in the Clayton Presbyterian Church, 4887 Pennsylvania Street, Clayton, Indiana. An additional service will be held in New Jersey in the coming weeks. Carlisle – Branson Funeral Service & Crematory, Mooresville, is serving the family. I don’t know what I would have done without you Ray. You’re such an important part of our lives and we have so many great memories going all the way back to WWC and continuing later in life like the video below. You helped make us brave and to dream big and if anyone messed with us, you’d help keep them in check. From mundane tasks and auto repairs, moving fast on anything with wheels to messing with the boys and teaching them life lessons, camping and hiking off trails to avoid civilization, bon fires and dreams and drinks and prayers, we enjoyed every minute and continued to work towards a better future. I’m not sure who’s going to fight me for your mom’s cookies or eat them right out of the oven before they make it off the rack/tray but I’ll still continue our tradition and smile as it brings a happy memory of you. You’re one of a kind and I couldn’t ask for a better uncle for my boys. We love you Ray! ❤️, Kimmy, Punk, and Bubs
Thankful for the memories we have of Ray. Our love and prayers are with you.
