Guestbook

  1. Robbin was my best friend for all of my adult life and my sister Carols’ for even longer when they met at the talkers table in the 3rd grade. He assured I had a job working as an Electricians Helper when I got out of the Air Force in 1987. We had our moments; (like the time he “borrowed” my motorcycle for MONTHS) but always, always found a way to get back on track and remain as close as blood brothers. Always kind to a fault under the pretext of being a tough guy, those that knew him best knew he truly was the guy to go to when you needed a helping hand, to borrow a few bucks ’till payday or another cold beer! My world has an even bigger void now that you and your girlfriend are both gone and not to be filled back any time soon, I’m afraid, because “they don’t make ’em like you anymore” and that’s the saddest part of this whole life event. A world without you will never be quite the same for me, Rob, but I’ll do my best to keep on truckin’ just like you would if I had passed before you. Until we meet again at the sound of Gabriel’s’ trumpet…I you Handyman!

  2. My last memory of Robbin was when Bill, Janet and I enjoyed a meal with him in Plainfield last summer. He was in good spirits, calm & relaxed on a lovely Indiana day. Robbin was my sister (Georgia) Carol Sue’s best buddy since they met at the ‘Talker’s Table’ in grade school. They eventually married and raised four good-hearted, strong sons and were a present influence in the lives of Michael’s two very bright sons (now grown men.) All, with the exception of one son, followed Robbin’s choice of profession and are skilled electricians. Robbin & Carol’s special living legacy are~~their sons: Rob, Nick, Michael, and Alex Handy, grandsons: Ethan and Owen Handy, an integral part of their family & ‘the only girl’, niece Harmony, as well as their other grandchildren.
