Robert E. Dunn

Robert E. Dunn, 82, of Monrovia, passed away on February 7, 2013, in I.U. West Hospital, Avon. He was born on July 28, 1930, in Lafayette, to the late Virgil and Mary Lottie (Clutter) Dunn.
Mr. Dunn worked for U.T.C Carrier in Indianapolis for 24 years; retiring in 1986. Previously, Bob was a dairy farmer in Lebanon and also owned the deer farm west of Monrovia. He enjoyed hunting, wildlife, and also worked to help endangered species. He was a faithful member of the Gasburg Baptist Church, Mooresville and a past brother of the Knights of Pythias. Bob will be dearly missed by his loving family and many friends.
Along with his parents, he was preceded in death by his daughters, Cheryl Dawn Dunn and Roberta “Robbie” Gent; brother, Richard Dunn; sisters, Rosie Talkington and Frances McMullen.
Survivors include his loving wife of 62 years, Irma (Bates) Dunn of Monrovia; daughter, Rhonda Robinson (Jim) of Monrovia; grandchildren, Jeremy Stanner (Tyana) of Florida, Crissie Terrell (Rocky) of Monrovia, and Erin Rumley (Josh) of Avon; 8 great grandchildren; sisters, Fern Sasse of Indianapolis and Bonnie Wolfe of Paragon; brother-in-law, Bill Bates (Ruby) of Freedom; sister-in-law, Rita Bowman of Indianapolis.
Calling will be observed from 4 to 8 p.m., Friday, February 8, 2013.in the Gasburg Baptist Church, 11564 N. Gasburg Road, Mooresville. The funeral service will begin at 10 a.m., Saturday, February 9, 2013, at the church. Pastor Jack Elliott will officiate the services. Burial will follow in West Ridge Park Cemetery, Indianapolis. So sorry to hear of Bob’s passing. I have many fond memories of Bob and his wife, Irma, when we were neighbors. My prayers are with the family. May the Lord draw you closer to Him as you mourn the loss of Bob. Charlotte McPhail
Uncle Bob was such a sweet and lovable man. I loved listening to his stories or just talking to him. I’m going to miss him, but I am blessed to have all the great memories of the times we got to spend together over the years. I love you Uncle Bob!
